HILLSBORO, Oregon, April 24th, 2020 – Downtown Hillsboro’s Venetian finds a new team to bring a brighter and more modern take to the vacant restaurant and theater.

 

The team at NW Events & Environments is eager to get started on the much-awaited project of reopening the Venetian. “It’s going to be a lot of work, but we’re ready,” the owner of the company says, “I’ve been operating in Hillsboro for almost a decade, and I want to continue to deepen the ties that we have to the community.” The deal was finalized on April 20th, 2020. Plans are well underway with the city to get the space remodeled and ready for the opening. “We want everyone to know that we’re keeping the original name and structure of the building,” the team says, “It’s going to be bright and modern, but will still have that Northwest rustic feel.” The acquisition comes with its own set of hurdles as the public is still unable to attend events or sit in at restaurants due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but the team looks forward to doing so the moment establishments like theirs are allowed to reopen.

 

Other community members are looking forward to the remodel too. Hillsboro Schools Foundation’s Executive Director, Aron Carleson, says “We’re thrilled that our partners, the team at NW Events, are the new owner of the Venetian. We look forward to having space available with culture in the heart of downtown for activities. HSF anticipates utilizing the space often and expects that other nonprofits and businesses will have the Venetian at the top of their list as the go-to space with their donors and customers. The Venetian holds a historical place in Hillsboro’s history, but we are looking forward to the new memories that will be created. The NW Events team is easy to work with, willing to think outside of the box, and genuinely cares about the community. We welcome NW Events to Main Street Hillsboro.”
